I am a family law, child protection, and consent and capacity lawyer practicing in Ottawa, Kanata, Stittsville, Almonte, Pakenham and surrounding areas.

Legal Services

I offer legal services for the following:

• Family law disputes including separation or divorce, custody, access, property division, and child and spousal support. If possible, I help clients resolve their disputes using negotiation and mediation, as it is usually faster and cheaper than going to court.
• Collaborative family law separations, in which the parties resolve to not turn to the court system.
• Child protection matters concerning the Children’s Aid Society.
• Consent and capacity hearings before the Consent and Capacity Board, such as medical and financial incapacity, involuntary status in a mental health facility, Community Treatment Orders, and end-of-life disputes.
• Parenting coordination services (in conjunction with Lisa Sharp), helping parents in high-conflict or complex parenting arrangements to co-parent successfully.
• Representation of children through the Office of the Children’s Lawyer as part of the legal rights panel.

Locations

My office is located on Laperriere Avenue in Ottawa, Ontario. I also meet client over Zoom and can meet clients in the community, especially if they have mobility issues or live in Kanata, Mississippi Mills, Almonte, Pakenham, Arnprior or Carleton Place.
